Hanging of the Billboards, Part V : On a nice breezy day in May, Julie, Cliff, Rick and I headed up to mount the next series of Mass Ave billboards: Molly Reilly's Gone By and Judith Levy's We Didn't Know Until They Told Us. We had a special guest appearance by one of the artists, Judith, who was a great help to us that evening. Judith is super cool. Thanks for the beers at the Chatterbox, Judith!

Rock.Art.2006 Art Auction & Benefit Show : On April 21, 2006, Your Art Here held its annual art auction and benefit show at Second Story. Boy, we worked our butts off getting ready for the big event. Not too many people showed (Damn the Little 500), but we improvised, sold as much art as we could and got to hear some kick-ass music. Thanks to all of our volunteers and supporters: Rick Dietz, for taking all the photos you see here and everything else you do for YAH, Rob Dietz, YAH house DJ, Melanie Schlosser for paddle-pushing, Vickie Battista for showing off te art, Cliff Ingham for all-around YAH support, Marc Tschida and 2nd story crew, Kristin and Vitello, for hosting us, John Walsh and the Sinkholes (YAH house band), The Binkleys and Sophia Travis for excellent music, the artists for donating fantastic artwork ....

Hanging of the Billboards, Part II : 'Twas a frigid cold, windy wind day in hip downtown Indianapolis when we hung Scott Johnson's and Joseph Traylor/Catherine Whitcomb's billboards. We ran into a few obstacles (opening ladder lock combination, missing/broken bungie chords, scary ladder situations), but Tom Battista helped us through the morning including schooling us in the way of the 50 ft ladder. BIG HUGE GIGANTIC thanks to Rick Dietz and Cliff Ingham. There's like NO WAY we can do this without their help! You guys rock.

Hanging of the Billboards, Part I : Julie, Tamara, Owen, Rick, Cliff, Andrew and I caravanned to downtown Indy to hang billboards for Your Art Here (YAH). Owen, YAH founder, graciously helped Tamara, Julie and I hang our very first billbaords atop very tall buildings (one taller than the other). Tamara and Julie fearlessly scaled the heights while I worried and held the ladders tight down below. Rick, Cliff and Owen offset my incapibilities by doing their share of climbing, ladder hopping, etc. It was fun!

Hanging of the Billboards, Part VI : Ah, another billboard hanging, but today was special. Brad Wicklund, recent addition to the YAH council of directors accompanied us for his first hanging -- and of his own artwork no less; Nikki Roberg, YAH Intern Extraordinaire, also had her first hanging experience; Cliff didn't fall off the ladder and dangle from the frame; Julie fearlessly scaled the heights and scabbed herself (a valiant injury!); I climbed halfway up the 50 ft building AND the weather was perfect. By far, this was the smoothest hanging of the 922 building ever!
